My head's gonna explode

Back then my daughter was 6 years old, going to elementary school. Every time I come from work; I spend some time with my kids before they go to bed.

This was Yesim’s first year at school and she was taking the school a little bit more seriously than she should. I told her let’s play, but she says she has homework to do and won’t play with me.

10 minutes later I teased her again, “Let’s play hide and seek”, your brother will join us too. We can play all together, you guys will be sleeping soon. She says, “Don’t bother me, I’m thinking”. I said, “Don’t think too much, your head will explode!" Yesim didn’t say anything but Engin burst out into laughter, that’s how we ended that night.

Years later I’m at my office, it’s the afternoon. I received a call from Engin’s school. And it’s strange, normally it’s my wife Zahide who takes care of the kids’ schools and attends parent-teacher meetings. A gentleman insists on talking to me, telling me he’s Engin’s teacher. I told him to call my wife, she’s the one he should talk to. He says no, I must talk to you. Pardon me? You “must” talk to me. He goes “Please listen to me. Today I asked Engin a question and told him Engin please think before you answer” He replies to his teacher back right away “I don’t want to think because if I think my head is gonna explode” His teacher, in shock, questions Engin’s reply and he says “It’s my father who told me that.”

That’s the reason this gentleman reprimands me and asks me what type of parent I am. I asked him his age, he says 45. How old is this boy, 7.
This boy gets that it’s a joke at 7, but you idiot don’t get it being a 45 years old grown-up. And don’t call me again about school matters.
