I don’t believe you guys!
I was in San Diego for business, and after that we decided to spend a couple of days together with my family in Las Vegas and we drove there. We stayed at Excalibur, which is a 4-star hotel, not 5. Las Vegas offers a lot of activities to kids as it does to adults. Only at nights when the kids go to sleep, we go down to the casino and spend time on slot machines.
At the end of 4 days, mostly we lost and eventually used all our small bills. Back then I used to assign tasks for the kids and then pay them for their services. I offered a dollar per day to my boy for carrying our Sony camera during our stay; he had 4 dollars at the end of the trip.
It was a very busy period for the hotel, you can't directly go to the reception and check out, instead you should point your bags to a bellboy, get a voucher, and then you can go downstairs. So, our bellboy came to collect our bags, I reached into my pockets to tip him and realized that the smallest bill on me is 20 dollars.
I looked at my wife Zahide, hoping she can help but she had a 100-dollar bill instead. Then I remembered the 4 dollars my boy Engin has. I told him in Turkish that I'll give him 10 dollars for his 4. He answers back in English "That's my money and I'm not gonna give it to you!" Hearing that conversation our bellboy starts glaring down at me. Again, in Turkish I tried "Boy, 20 dollars for your 4!" and again in English Engin goes "I said No!" Assuming that I’m a compulsive gambler our bellboy couldn't take it anymore "What kind of parents are you, you're taking your kids' money!!"
Well, I said, "I asked him to tip you, I was going to give him 20 bucks for that."
The guy replies "I don't believe you; you guys are addicted!!"
